Remember When? (Part II)

Remember that incredible men's 4x100-meter freestyle relay finish in Beijing?! The one where the U.S. chased down the cocky French team to win? And also kept Michael Phelps' hopes alive of winning an historic eight gold medals in a single Olympics?

Of course you do! Because, how could you forget?! It was easily one of the most memorable moments from that Olympics and the best relay race I've ever witnessed. I seriously still get chills every. single. time!

I remember watching it with my parents at home in Sugar Land. I was home in between finishing my spring/summer internship and heading back to Mizzou for my first year of graduate school (I may or may not have conveniently scheduled my internship to end the day before the Beijing opening ceremonies). I think we all had one of those "did we really just witness that" type moments. As I'm sure anyone else did while it watching live. And it was truly LIVE (no-tape delay, no previously aired) as the swimming events in Beijing took place in the morning there and thus NBC was able to air them live in primetime.

You couldn't have written anything better than this...
